Are BVN and NIN compulsory?
No. BVN and NIN are NOT compulsory at onboarding.
• Any compulsory field has a red asterisk
• BVN/NIN are optional and can be completed later
• This is intentional because many customers don’t have them yet • Alajo is also modeled to help customers get BVN and NIN
**Never reject a customer because of BVN or NIN.

Why do we take pictures of the customer’s location?
Because address alone is not reliable. Pictures help us: • Locate customers physically • Verify existence • Support loan & product delivery • Replace utility bills when unavailable Pictures are compulsory. Addresses are secondary.
Can a customer be onboarded without a bank account?
Yes. • Account number is NOT compulsory • Alājo can create a bank account for the customer • That’s why data is collected early We are banking the unbanked, not filtering them out.
